Recap
Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 on Windows 7 64 bit computer.
I have gone through your whole thread again. Apparently, you started with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 launching freeze and the problem persists after many considerations, including deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and also the 9.0 Folder in which it exists. You seem to be running the program Run As Administrator as well as from a User Account with Administrative Privileges. QuickTime (latest version) is installed on the computer with your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 (confirmed 9.0.1 installed).
Next
1. Video card/graphics card. Not sure if we have checked and double checked this. Let us try this before sending you to the web site of the manufacturer of the card to check latest version of the card driver.
a. Go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound. Double click on Hardware and Sound. Under Hardware and Sound, go to Devices and Printer and double click on it. Under Devices and Printer, double click on the Device Manager choice.
b. Under Device Manager, double click on Display Adapter in order to see the name of your video card/graphics card. How many names do you see there, 1 or 2?
c. Double click the name of your video card/graphics card to bring up its Properties dialog. In that Properties dialog, click on the Driver Tab.
And, then tell us what you see for the driver's
Name
Provider
Date
Version
Digital Signature
I was hoping that the quick and very rough route (deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file) would have pointed us in or out of the video card/graphics card consideration.
2. After we rule in or out once and for all the video card/graphics card involvement in the freezes, then
a. Create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and install and run Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 from it.
b. Did you do a virus scan lately and have you tried to launch the program with and without the antivirus program disabled?
c. Have you run a Disk Utility check. See Computer/Local Disk C/Properties/Tools/Error Checking as well as Defragmentation.
Have you ever gotten to the point where you were able to see the new project dialog and select a project preset?
Above details can be fine tuned if supplemental how to information needed.
Please review and consider.
