If I remember correctly, Eric Chan (of Adobe) said recently that Lr5.5 would be out soon - in the feedback forum.
It makes sense: ACR 8.5 was released recently.
If no Lr5.5 to match, it would be a first - right?
Anyway, we'll all see very shortly, so hardly seems worth speculating about to me - whatever...
